Day 4 / Part 2 - Flippy Floppy Adventure

Part 2
November 29, 2010

I updated earlier today, just cuz.

Us girls spent the day in the water and on the beach on the little island of Labadee, Haiti. I have little for pictures on my phone but a lot of photos and fun video on the cam. Yay for waterproof cameras!

Photo: See the dude in the speedo. He was pretty hot, I couldn't stop looking at his hotness haha!

Quickie points today:
- The ocean water tastes horrible and burns the eyes!
- The Labadee marketers are pushy as hell and are just as annoying.
- I don't care what anyone says, Photo Booths are FUN!

- The dining room waiters sang and danced today for everyone, it was awesome sauce.

- I want to bring our "Bread Master" (Assistant Waiter, we just nicknamed him.) back to my cabin and umm... stuff and junk. He's adorable as sin!
- Ryan is kinda back to normal. He burst outta the room around 4 pm today and has been hanging out with us again.

We checked out the LOVE & MARRIAGE Show this evening. I haven't laughed that hard for a while. 3 random couples from the audience were selected. Newly Weds, A couple that had been married for a LONG time and a couple in-between. They send the guys to the back and ask women questions blah blah blah I'm sure you know the rest... FUNNY STUFF!

After all the walking and swimming that I did today, my legs and feet ache and I'm SUPER sleepy. I totally bitched out early and left the others in the hot tub. Zzz time for me.

Day 4 / Part 1 - Flippy Floppy Cruise

We are at port today. Labadee, Haiti. It's its own little separate island that only Royal Caribbean can dock at. Is beautiful. I'm currently sitting on the beach, listening to music, typing this out on my iPhone. SEE!:
(note: I'll post this as soon as I get back to the ship with wireless.)

I wonder what it would be like to live here, live on a beach, live where is beautiful, warm weather all the time. I know for sure that I would have stocks in sunblock... Haha!

On that note, no sunburn as of yet. I am usually overly protective as it is, but sometimes a burn can sneak in.

I haven't missed being in-touch with the world at all. Only today, my third day on the ship, have I signed up to have wifi. I originally thought it was going to be like $1.00/minute. Nope, ONLY $0.65/minute haha :) I will log on just to post my last 3 blogs. Thankfully, when I post it to the one site it will automatically post it to Twitter and Facebook.

I'll write more later. xo

Day 3 - Flippy Floppy Adventure

November 28, 2010

I had this blog written out already but my phone decided to not wanna save it. Grrr! Anyway, here we go again!...

Mandy and I got up at 8am and headed to the gym. It was really busy! I'm not sure why I was so surprised at this, but I was. Who'da thunk... I can't actually avoid people on a ship with 8800 people on it haha!

Quicky Updateness:
- We lost Maggie and Ryan for a bit in the morning but found them. We felt so lost without 'em haha!

- They have a Build A Bear-Like store here and I bought/made a blue Dragon stuffed animal with a Royal Caribbean belly shirt. I named her Sapphire. I was overly excited about this process... Shut up.

- The ship offered Adult Dodgeball and Mandy and I played. Our team won and we won a gold metal. Woohoo! (Got some video of the game, will have to post when I get home.)

- Ryan hasn't been feeling well so he went to the medial centre here on the ship. They confined him to his room for 24 hours! LAME SAUCE! To make it sting a little less, they gave him unlimited "Free" room service, bottled water and all the movies he could watch.

- Mandy and I spent hours in the hot tub drinking and chatting. While in there, the ship sailed into a storm and the rain was huge and intense. It was pretty cool. We were in the hot tub in the Solarium, all glass, so we could see everything.

- More hot tub fun included a "free" soft-core porn show. We witnessed a middle aged woman give her man a "handy"! (Mom, don't ask what that means haha!)

While Ryan was healing in his cabin, mah' girls and I gussied ourselves up and headed to our formal dinner. Later we went to see the broadway show, Hairspray. It was really good. We really enjoyed it.

Tomorrow we port at Labadee, Haiti. Off to Zzz Town for this girly.

Day 2 - Flippy Floppy Cruise

November 27, 2010
Today was pretty low-key on the eventfulness fun front. We woke around 7am, Mandy and I threw on our "I'm on a boat" shirts and we all headed to board our cruise around noon.

This ship is MASSIVE! We have only really seen 1/4 of it. We did some "sight seeing" around the boat, ate a bunch, (I ate way too much, even though I'm making healthier choices, I feel like an orca. Damn.) and just kinda hung out.

My mom told me that when she was on her cruise years ago that she took the stairs all the time to balance out the eating, haha! So, I suggested to the gang that we take the stairs as much as possible and we actually have... And there was several races. Ryan always wins. Bastard. ;)

3 out of our 7 bags were "caught" with alcohol and they actually "lost" one of our suitcases and we had to run around to different parts of the boat to try and locate it. "Luckily", they didn't catch all of the goods and we were able to savor our own bevvies.

This evening we had an amazing dinner in the dining room and hit up the hot tubs. Heading to bed now, since it is 1 am... Gym in the morning, more eats (but of course!) and more adventures.

Day 1 - Flippy Floppy Cruise Adventure

November 26, 2010
My day started out at 1 am this morning when my sweet, cute, butthead Great Dane woke me. She woke me an hour before I was due to rise and shine... Grrr! On my 3 hours of sleep, I proceeded to get ready for my Flippy Floppy Cruise Adventure! *cue dramatic fun music*

My earlier than early morning gave me more time to hang out with Rubi before she was shipped off to the dreaded kennel for the week. (Poor baby girl!)

Maggie, Ryan and Mandy picked me up at 3:20 am and we headed to the Edmonton International Airport for our 6:30 am flights - Except Maggie and Ryan were on a completely different flight than Mandy and I. Our flight connected through Houston, theirs through Arizona. We arrived in Florida at 4:30pm, Maggie and Ryan still aren't here.

Mandy and I checked in to the good 'ol Best Western and headed out via flippy flops in search of food and alcohol.
We wandered around, finally asking a random lady in scrubs where a good place to eat was. She suggested Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza but told us that we should take a cab. "CAB SCHMAB!" we proclaimed and headed there on foot. We made it to the restaurant in good time and ate a delicious meal. (This place actually reminded me of Famoso in Edmonton.)

On our way back to the hotel, Mandy stated that she needed to poo and figured she could make it back... NOPE! We rushed into Walgreens where the distress in her face and voice alarmed the whole store and had staff quickly assisting her to the bathroom JUST IN TIME! Phew!

We proceeded onward with our adventure and decided to check out the liquor store where we met some nice, helpful American men that worked there. An older man, loudly welcomed us into the store, "Welcome to Big Daddy's Liquor!" I whisper to Mandy, "Wow, the way he said that totally turned me on!", I laughed. One younger cute guy that worked there chatted us up and helped us make wise, intelligent alcohol choices. Later Mandy told me that he was checking me out, especially my ass. (Phht, yeah right!)

We decided that we had to purchase an additional suitcase so that we could accommodate our liquor haul. We seriously, get ripped off in Canada, stuff we paid $20 for here, we would have easily paid $60+ for in Canada, yikes! You may be wondering why we are buying so much alcohol... BECAUSE, we don't want to pay out pricey cruise alcohol prices.

In closing, Mandy and I walked 6.5 kms (4 miles) tonight and have blisters to prove it. None the less, Day 1 was an awesome adventure!

Added note:
Later we were told that we probably shouldn't have walked alone at night in this part of the city. Haha! I did vocally notice that the streets were pretty empty.. huh, we are just some innocent Canadian girls!

Words to live by

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
Love the people who treat you right and love the ones who don't just because you can.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If something changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly.
Forgive quickly.
No one said life would be easy, but everything is worth it.

Shallow.

Shallow people are... well, fucking shallow. Forgive me, despite my efforts, I’m not a skinny bitch. I’m aware my body is far from perfect, I’m the one that has to look at and live in it every day. Scratch the fact that I’m healthy and I am active. Who cares if my smile and my personality shines. As if I am not already self conscious, you make me want to retract into myself. Fuck you for even getting to me.

Oh boohoo, the fat girl made a fat blog.
